Easton Public Schools Awarded 250 Devices Through State Device Distribution Program

EASTON — Easton Public Schools has received 250 internet-enabled devices through a statewide initiative designed to expand access to technology and online resources for students and communities across Massachusetts.

The devices were awarded through the Massachusetts Broadband Institute (MBI), a division of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MassTech), through its Connected and Online Program. The program is distributing nearly 27,000 devices to organizations across the state to help residents access essential services, educational opportunities, and digital resources.

The initiative is funded through the U.S. Treasury’s Capital Projects Fund and supports schools, libraries, nonprofits, and other community organizations working to expand digital access.

“In a time of challenging budgets and necessary fiscal restraint, receiving a grant that directly supports our students, their families, and staff is especially meaningful,” said Superintendent Dr. Lisha Cabral. “We are deeply grateful for this award and extend our sincere appreciation to Director of Instructional Technology Lívia Ramos for her dedication and diligence in securing this opportunity for our district.”

The devices will help Easton Public Schools expand  access to technology and support digital learning across the district for students and their families.

“Securing a grant for physical devices is a significant challenge in today’s landscape, and we are honored that the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative’s Massachusetts Broadband Institute has chosen to invest in Easton Public Schools,” said Ramos. “This award allows us to continue bridging the gap in digital equity and puts essential technology directly into the hands of our students and families.”

According to the state announcement, the Connected and Online Program will provide nearly 27,000 devices statewide, including laptops, tablets, and desktop computers. The program aims to help residents access education, workforce training, health care, and other essential services online.
