Chelmsford Police Officers Help to Safely Evacuate Residents During Multi-Family House Fire

CHELMSFORD – Police Chief Colin Spence reports that the Chelmsford Police Department responded to a fire at a duplex-style home on Mill Road Saturday morning.

CHELMSFORD – Police Chief Colin Spence reports that the Chelmsford Police Department responded to a fire at a duplex-style home on Mill Road Saturday morning.

On Saturday, Feb. 17, at approximately 3 a.m., the Chelmsford Police Department responded to a report of a fire at a home at 164-166 Mill Road.

Upon arrival, officers saw smoke and fire coming from the second floor of 164 Mill Road. Officers spoke with both property owners of the duplex and discovered that some of the residents in 166 Mill Road had not been evacuated. Officer Christopher Chipchak and Officer Christopher Robinson entered the residence and safely evacuated the remaining family members.

The fire was extinguished by the Chelmsford Fire Department and was contained to 164 Mill Road. No injuries were reported.

“I would like to commend Officers Chris Chipchak and Christopher Robinson for their exceptional efforts during this challenging situation,” said Chief Spence. “Their quick and effective response played a crucial role in evacuating a family, including young children, to safety”
