TAUNTON — Chief Edward J. Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department is investigating an apparent shooting on Winthrop Street.
At 7:40 a.m. Friday, July 21, Taunton Police were dispatched to a home on Winthrop Street for a report of an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim seated in a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound.
Officers rendered immediate aid and the victim was subsequently transported to an area hospital with injuries that are serious and potentially life-threatening.
The incident is currently under investigation by Taunton Police and members of the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
