Blue Hills Regional Technical School Congratulates Class of 2023 Practical Nursing Program Graduates

CANTON —  Superintendent Jill Rossetti would like to congratulate Blue Hills Regional Technical School’s Practical Nursing Program Class of 2023 upon their graduation.

The 34th annual commencement of Blue Hills Regional Technical School’s Practical Nursing Program took place Friday, June 23, at Blue Hills Regional Technical School Cafetorium. 

The 16 graduates honored during the ceremony include Melinda S. Depina of Brockton, Marianie Francois of Fall River, Tymone Griffith of Milton, Maura P. Hurley of Abington, Noelle T. Lacey of Westwood, Maria A. Lopes of Brockton, Daniel MacDonald of Canton, Michelle Marilyn Janice McRae of Dorchester, Maya Shanice Miracle McRae of Dorchester, Fabia Abilio Oliveira of Brockton, Netty Sylveriste of Canton, Susan A. Thompson of Canton, Kayla Rose Vernet of Brighton, Maryuleth Chavez of East Boston and Carmel Marie Dauphin of Stoneham.

“I would like to congratulate each of our sixteen graduates who have dedicated much of their free time to continuing their education as students in our nursing program,” Superintendent Rossetti said. “Each student displayed a commendable commitment to their studies and we are pleased to see that culminate in their graduation.”

The ceremony featured opening remarks from District School Committee Representative from Canton Mark Driscoll. Superintendent Rossetti and Blue Hills LPN Program Coordinator Donna Theodore also spoke during the ceremony.

Certificates were awarded at the ceremony by Superintendent Rossetti and Practical Nursing Part-Time Instructor Lilzita Lopes.

The presentation of pins was handled by Practical Nursing instructors Paula Haddad, Enella Brice-James andCidalia Staiti. Awards were also presented to students by Coordinator Theodore.

“As you go forth into the profession, remember the critical role nurses play in health promotion and disease prevention. Most importantly, remember to listen, to be present with the patient you are caring for at that moment, and become the nurse you were trained to be,” said Coordinator Theodore during the ceremony’s closing remarks.

Blue Hills Regional Practical Nursing Program

The Blue Hills Regional Practical Nursing Program is a post-secondary adult 10-month full-time nursing program at Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton. Graduates of the program are prepared both academically and clinically to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN) through the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
