DRACUT — The Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC) Police Foundation, Inc. would like to thank all of the sponsors and participants in the 2023 NEMLEC Police Foundation Golf Tournament, which raised approximately $28,000 for law enforcement programming and charities.
Held on Monday, May 22, at the Four Oaks Country Club in Dracut, 130 golfers participated in the 18-hole tournament and silent raffles.
Major sponsors included All Sports Heroes, Four Oaks Country Club, George Behrakis, The Stanton Foundation, Municipal Graphics, The Edward Davis Company, McGovern Municipal, Beowolf Security Consultants, Delphi Technology Solutions and Crystal Motor Express.
Since its inception in 2005, the NEMLEC Police Foundation and its all-volunteer board of directors have raised more than $500,000 to directly fund the operations of the North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council.
The Foundation has hosted dozens of high-level training courses for police officers, detectives and superior officers, which have had an immediate impact on crime prevention and emergency preparedness.
The NEMLEC Foundation also raises thousands of dollars each year for charities that are near and dear to police officers, including Cops for Kids with Cancer.
The tournament helps support programs including NEMLEC’s School Threat Assessment and Response System (STARS) training, comprehensive motorcycle training, risk management training, and annual basic and advanced crime scene classes, among others.
“We want to thank all of our sponsors and all of the golfers who enjoyed a fine day on the links while also contributing to law enforcement training, and contributing to our charitable efforts,” said Executive Director Sharon Crowley. “Our annual golf tournament is a major fundraiser for us, and we will also be making a sizeable donation to Cops for Kids with Cancer as a result of the tournament’s success.”
