BOURNE — Superintendent Kerri Anne Quinlan-Zhou and Bourne Middle School Principal Christine Borning would like to thank the Bourne Middle School staff, the Bourne PTA, students and family members for a successful Curriculum Night and Ice Cream Social last week.

The annual event was held on Tuesday, May 2, at Bourne Middle School, where 300 students and families participated in fun and interactive activities including bird-themed art, coding activities, Spanish language games, math games and science lab activities.

In addition, there were slideshows and displays of student work in classrooms and hallways, including school projects and poems. There was also 2D and 3D artwork on display throughout the building.

The event also included a book fair and ice cream sundaes were given to all who attended, which were provided by the Bourne PTA.

“We had a great turnout. It’s wonderful to have the community see all the fantastic work our students have been doing this year in a fun and interactive setting,” said Principal Borning.

Bourne Middle School parents were also able to explore the program “Hidden in Plain Sight” (HIPS), which was provided by the Bourne Substance Free Coalition. HIPS is an interactive program that offers adults insights into current trends in youth substance use, drug paraphernalia and concealment of illicit drugs and alcohol.
