BURLINGTON 一 The Burlington Public Library recently hosted a successful Patron Appreciation Day.
The event took place on Saturday, April 22, at the Burlington Public Library. More than 400 patrons attended and took part in various programs and a raffle. Children had fun playing with bubbles and reading books, and adults and children alike enjoyed the cookies provided by MOM’s Organic Market and Wegmans.
The day featured a musical performance from Ants on a Log, a band that specializes in music for children that advocates for positivity, social justice, and silliness.
The event was inspired by the support of Burlington Public Library’s patrons, who helped the Library win March Minute Madness, a reading competition among 22 libraries throughout Massachusetts. Burlington won the reading contest by a landslide with over 495,000 minutes of reading logged by more than 650 patrons.
“Our patrons are amazing and we appreciate them so much, which is why we wanted to hold this event in their honor,” said Library Director Michael Wick. “This event was a great opportunity to thank them for their support all of the time, and especially for their efforts to help Burlington find success in our friendly competition with libraries in other communities.”
