Bourne High School Recognizes Athletic Teams for Performances During MIAA Winter Tournaments

BOURNE — Superintendent Kerri Anne Quinlan-Zhou and Athletic Director Scott Ashworth wish to recognize Bourne High School athletic teams for their performances during the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) winter tournaments. 

BOURNE — Superintendent Kerri Anne Quinlan-Zhou and Athletic Director Scott Ashworth wish to recognize Bourne High School athletic teams for their performances during the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) winter tournaments. 

“We are extremely proud of the level of athleticism and passion that each of our scholar-athletes exhibited during the regular season and at the tournaments,” said Superintendent Quinlan-Zhou. “There was electricity in the air when they took to the court or rink and we are also grateful for the high level of school spirit that our fans showed in support of our Canalmen.”

Girls Hockey

The Bourne High School girls hockey team played through the round of 32, losing to Shrewsbury with a score of 9-0.

Girls Basketball 

The Bourne High School girls basketball team played through the round of 16, losing to Malden Catholic High School. 

The team had won in the round of 32 against Hamilton-Wenham High School with a score of 50-42.

Boys Basketball 

The Bourne High School boys basketball team played to the round of 8, losing to Milbury High School with a score of 70-64. 

The team won in the round of 32 over Whittier Tech, 82-60, and in the round of 16 over Georgetown, 67-52. 

Boys Hockey

The Bourne High School boys hockey team played to the round of 32, losing to Dennis-Yarmouth 2-1 in overtime.

“The athletic department would like to thank the faculty, staff, student body and community at large for the support shown during our tournament runs,” said Director Ashworth. “The rinks and gyms were jam-packed which added to our student-athletes tournament experiences.”

As the spring athletic season begins, Bourne High School encourages all interested students to participate in spring sports. Spring sports offerings include baseball, softball, lacrosse, tennis, outdoor track, sailing and unified sports teams.
