NEW LONDON — Superintendent Winfried Feneberg is pleased to announce that Sutton Central School staff member Amy Cook has been named one of 30 recipients of a new state award recognizing the work of school counselors.
CHART (Character and Resiliency Together) is given to school educators who personally demonstrate and model character and resiliency. The CHART award was developed this year to honor the 30th anniversary of the New Hampshire Governor’s Council on Physical Activity and Health (GCPAH).
This award was given as a surprise to Cook, as she walked into a room of cheerful students and colleagues in an assembly-style event.
“I am so grateful to receive this award,” said Cook. “I am extremely thankful for the support of the school community and very proud of my students.”
“Our Kearsarge community is very proud of Amy and all of her hard work,” Superintendent Feneberg said. “She exemplifies all that the CHART award entails and we are fortunate for her commitment to Sutton Central School students.”
This award is given by GCPAH in collaboration with the YMCA Alliance of Northern New England and the New Hampshire Department of Education.
The award was presented to 30 educators from around the state.
