Bourne High School Athletic Teams to Compete in Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Tournament 

BOURNE — Superintendent Kerri Anne Quinlan-Zhou and Athletic Director Scott Ashworth are pleased to announce that the regular seasons have concluded for Bourne High School’s winter athletic teams and teams will now prepare for their state tournaments. 

BOURNE — Superintendent Kerri Anne Quinlan-Zhou and Athletic Director Scott Ashworth are pleased to announce that the regular seasons have concluded for Bourne High School’s winter athletic teams and teams will now prepare for their state tournaments. 

Four BHS teams finished in the top 30 of the MIAA end-of-season power rankings this winter, en route to qualifying for statewide tournaments. 

The following Bourne High School winter athletic teams will compete in the first round of their respective Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament: 

  • Bourne High School Girls Ice Hockey Team
  • Bourne High School Boys Ice Hockey Team
  • Bourne High School Boys Basketball Team
  • Bourne High School Girls Basketball Team

The ORR-BMW ice hockey team (Bourne athletes competing as a co-op team with Wareham and Old Rochester Regional High Schools) finished with a 7-12-1 record and will compete at the Northstar skating rink in Westborough, against Shrewsbury High School, on Wednesday, March.1 at 5 p.m.

Following the regular season, the Bourne High School boys hockey team finished the season 8-11-1 and will compete in the first round of the MIAA Tournament. The first round will be hosted at the Tony Kent Arena in Dennis, against Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School (12 – 8 – 1), on Thursday, March 2 at 6:10 p.m. 

The boys basketball team finished with a 17-3 record, good for the fourth seed, and will compete at Bourne High School against a team to be determined, on Friday, March 3 at 6:30 p.m. 

Bourne’s girls basketball team finished the season 17-3 record, good for the eleventh seed,  and will host its first-round game at Bourne High School, against Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School (8 – 12) on Saturday, March 4 at 6 p.m. 

MIAA Tournament Tickets are required for entry and are available for purchase at each event. Student tickets are $3 and adult tickets are $5.

“Our Bourne High School student-athletes have had incredible seasons,” said Superintendent Quinlan-Zhou. “Each year I am impressed by the athleticism and sportsmanship that these students display and I’m looking forward to rooting them on as they compete in the MIAA tournaments.”
