NEW LONDON — Superintendent Winfried Feneberg is pleased announce Kearsarge Regional High School’s February Student of the Month.
Kritsada Panya, a sophomore from Newbury, was selected for the honor based on nominations from school staff and faculty. Panya is described as a motivated and hard-working individual, who challenges himself to reach his goals.
“Krit is a very positive member of his class community,” said Science Teacher Emily Anderson. “You can always find a smile on his face, and he can collaborate with anyone. He is a very motivated learner and is making huge strides each day as a result.”
Students of the Month are nominated and selected by faculty in recognition of their positive conduct and character, both on and off campus. The honor is an acknowledgement of an individual’s positive moral character and contributions to the school community.
Panya is a member of the Kearsarge High School soccer team and is currently applying to the Concord Regional Technical Center Automotive Program. This program helps students achieve credentials in their specific field of study and helps secure them a job within that industry. Outside of school, Panya works at Mount Sunapee Ski Resort and in local auto body shops.
“Krit is an extremely hard-working student, who demonstrates patience, resilience, and compassion every day,” said ESOL Teacher and Program Director Michelle Marzelli. “With his positive attitude and sense of humor, he is always pushing himself to be the best he can be and helps others along the way. He knows that his success is determined by his willingness to learn and ask questions, and to collaborate. Not only is he excelling here at Kearsarge, he is also multilingual, a student-athlete and seeks out various jobs in his community. Krit is a model student who deserves this recognition!”
Panya’s future goals mirror his passion for cars: “I’m starting the process of setting up a job shadow and maybe a summer job working with a mechanic. I’m interested in learning through a job so that someday I could have my own mechanic shop.”
