Ed Fenn Elementary Students Visit Living Shores Aquarium

GORHAM – Superintendent David Backler and the Ed Fenn Elementary School are pleased to announce that first-grade students recently visited Living Shores Aquarium.

On Monday, Feb. 13, first graders from Ed Fenn visited Living Shores Aquarium to learn about a variety of animals’ characteristics and the habitats they create.

At the start of the trimester, first graders explored how external characteristics of animals are essential for survival and the different structures and habitats animals build for protection.

Additionally, Ed Fenn Elementary had Tin Mountain, a northern New Hampshire science program, visit first-grade classrooms throughout January to discuss animal adaptations and more.

“It was so exciting to see our students learn about animal characteristics and the environments they live in,” Principal Tina Binette said. “Our students are excited and curious about life science, and it was great to see their curiosities come to life with these programs.”

“I want to thank our teachers for their commitment to facilitating exploration and hands-on learning for students across the district,” said Superintendent Backler. “We want our students to learn in new and immersive ways, and this trip is a great example of what that can look like.”
