Town of East Bridgewater Receives Grant Awards Through State’s Community One Stop for Growth Program

EAST BRIDGEWATER — Town Administrator Charles Seelig is pleased to announce that the Town of East Bridgewater has received multiple grant awards through the State’s Community One Stop for Growth initiative.

EAST BRIDGEWATER — Town Administrator Charles Seelig is pleased to announce that the Town of East Bridgewater has received multiple grant awards through the State’s Community One Stop for Growth initiative. 

The announcement was made at East Bridgewater Town Hall on Thursday, Nov. 3.

Specifically, the Town received awards that included the following:

  • $75,000 as part of the Community Planning Grant Program. This grant will help the Town in the development of a new master plan, including a review of the Town’s natural and cultural resources, transportation (both roads and public transit), energy and sustainability, public health, general infrastructure, and land use and zoning and develop an action plan to implement the recommendations.
  • $4,000,000 as part of the MassWorks Infrastructure Program. This grant will fund the construction of a wastewater pump station and force main for the City of Brockton’s sewer system. This area is also the site of a proposed 240-unit Chapter 40B residential development and commercial development.

In making the announcement Thursday, the Town of East Bridgewater recognized and thanked all those who worked to help secure the funding, including members of the Town’s legislative delegation, the City of Brockton, the Old Colony Planning Council, staff from Weston and Sampson, and numerous employees of the Town.

Last week, Governor Charlie Baker, Lt. Governor Karyn Polito, Undersecretary of Community Development Ashley Stolba and MassDevelopment President and CEO Dan Rivera were joined by state and local officials to announce the more than $143 million in grant awards to support 337 local economic development projects in 169 communities across the state. The awards are through the Baker-Polito Administration’s Community One Stop for Growth program.

Community One Stop for Growth is a single application portal that provides a streamlined, collaborative review process of 12 state grant programs that fund economic development projects related to community capacity building, planning and zoning, site preparation, building construction and infrastructure.

“Since taking office, we have been proud to make significant investments in helping our cities, towns and local partners achieve their economic development goals through a range of grant programs and legislation aimed at advancing the diverse needs of municipalities across the state,” said Governor Charlie Baker in a statement. “The projects awarded funding today build upon that work and will create jobs, build housing, revitalize spaces and empower communities in every region of the Commonwealth.”
