Rowley Water Announces 2022 Water Flushing Schedule

ROWLEY – The Rowley Water Department would like to announce its 2022 Flushing Schedule for Rowley residents.

Water main flushing will begin during the week of Oct. 17 and continue for approximately three weeks. Flushing is expected to take place from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on each designated flushing day. Residents should note on the chart above when their street is scheduled for flushing.

Residents may experience low or no water pressure while flushing is ongoing. The water pressure should be restored when flushing is finished in that area, though residents may also notice that the water may have some discoloration or a change in water clarity. This is due to the removal of sediment from the underground pipes during the flushing. 

The schedule is subject to change.

The water system undergoes flushing twice a year to help ensure sustained water quality and clarity and support the longevity of the system’s infrastructure.

Residents may experience brown water due to hydrant flushing. The Rowley Water Department recommends the product Iron Out to use for stained laundry, which is available at your local hardware store and can be found on Amazon.
