Acton Police and Fire Respond After Worker Struck by Part of Tree

Police Chief Richard Burrows and Fire Chief Robert Hart report that the Acton Police and Fire Departments responded after a part of a tree struck a tree trimmer earlier today.

ACTON — Police Chief Richard Burrows and Fire Chief Robert Hart report that the Acton Police and Fire Departments responded after a part of a tree struck a tree trimmer earlier today.

On Monday, Feb. 14, at approximately 11:30 a.m., first responders were dispatched to 98 Pope Road for a report that a part of a tree fell on a worker who was trimming a tree.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered that a chunk of a tree broke loose and struck the worker, a 41-year-old man, on the back of his hard hat as he was repelling to the ground.

The man was treated on scene by Acton Fire and EMS before being transported by ambulance to an area hospital.

The incident remains under investigation by the Acton Police Department. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified of the incident.
