Manchester-by-the-Sea Police Conducting Death Investigation

MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA — Chief Todd Fitzgerald reports that the Manchester-by-the-Sea Police Department is investigating after a woman was found dead in her car after an apparent crash into the ocean. 

Yesterday afternoon, Manchester-by-the-Sea Police initiated an investigation and search after a female resident was reported missing. At about 10:29 a.m. today, a resident reported located a vehicle matching the description of the one the woman was driving in the water off Boardman Avenue. 

Police responded and located the vehicle, and located the female inside deceased. 

Manchester-By-The-Sea Police are actively investigating in conjunction with the Massachusetts State Police and the Essex District Attorney’s Office. Following a preliminary investigation, no foul play is suspected at this time.
