DIGHTON – Town Administrator Michael Mullen, Jr. and Police Chief Robert MacDonald announce that a Dighton Police Department officer has been placed on paid administrative leave.
Chief MacDonald placed the officer on leave on May 10.
The town has hired an independent, outside agency to conduct an investigation, which is now underway.
No additional information will be released at this time, due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
“Chief MacDonald and the Town take these allegations extremely seriously,” Administrator Mullen said. “The Town intends to perform its due diligence and will await the result of the outside, independent investigation.”
