LITTLETON – Chief Matthew Pinard reports that Littleton Police arrested a New York man on drug charges after stopping a driver who had been texting behind the wheel and operating erratically.
BRANDON RODRIGUEZ, AGE 20, OF OZONE PARK, QUEENS, N.Y., has been charged with:
- Trafficking Cocaine
- Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Use of Hand-Held Devices
- Marked Lanes Violation
At about 10:10 p.m. on Monday, April 5, Littleton Police pulled over a Chevy Impala driven by RODRIGUEZ on Russell Street near Great Road, after observing multiple motor-vehicle violations. A search of the Impala by officers and Littleton K-9 Vojak located about 29 grams of cocaine. The search also yielded a bag containing about $7,600.
RODRIGUEZ will be arraigned in Ayer District Court on Tuesday.
Officer Brian Casey conducted the arrest, with assistance from Sgt. Edmond Bussiere.
“This is a great example of how an observant officer can make a traffic stop that leads to taking dangerous drugs off the streets,” Chief Pinard said.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
