NEW LONDON, N.H. — Superintendent Winfried Feneberg is pleased to announce Kearsarge Regional High School’s October student of the month.
Megan Norris, a senior of New London was selected as the October student of the month after she was nominated by faculty for the honor.
“Megan is well known by her teachers and peers as someone who exemplifies leadership and positivity in all that she does, in addition to being a dedicated student,” Superintendent Feneberg said. “Congratulations to her on this recognition, she has set a wonderful example for her classmates and teammates alike.”
Norris is an honor roll student at Kearsarge Regional High School and is involved in several extracurricular groups. She is a three season athlete, and is a member of the Varsity Field Hockey, Alpine Skiing and Lacrosse teams at Kearsarge Regional High School. She is also involved in the Big Buddies Program and is working on starting a Best Buddies Program at Kearsarge Regional High School for her Senior Project.
“Megan is an exemplary student and citizen and always has a kind word for everyone as well as a smile,” Kearsarge Regional High School Assistant Principal Amanda Downing said. “I look forward to her progress in creating a Best Buddies Program here at KRHS. Her dedication to working with students with special needs and creating a culture of kindness and inclusivity is admirable!”
Last year, Norris was inducted into the National Honor Society and also won the Clarkson University Book Award.
“I felt so honored to receive this recognition,” Norris said. “I have always been motivated in school because I think it is very rewarding to learn new things. Sports have been a great outlet because they help with time management, team-building, and are a fun way to work collectively with others to achieve a common goal.”
Norris is interested in studying a biological science and attending a New England based college next year, and would like to pursue a career in the medical field.
