Burlington Police Charge Two with Drug Offenses Following Report of Suspicious Activity

BURLINGTON — Chief Michael Kent reports that Burlington Police charged two men with multiple drug-related offenses on Friday.

TUAN DANG, AGE 32, OF PELHAM, N.H., and DAREN LEWIS, AGE 39, OF QUINCY, were both charged with: 

  • Possession of a Class D Substance with Intent to Distribute (Marijuana)
  • Distribution of Class D Substance (Marijuana)
  • Conspiracy
  • Money Laundering

At approximately noon on Friday, May 1, members of the Burlington Police Detective Division were conducting surveillance in the area of Old Concord Road following a tip of suspicious activity.

Detectives observed two males, later identified as DANG and LEWIS, meet in an area parking lot and conduct what was believed to be a drug transaction. Detectives approached the subjects and began an on-scene investigation.

As a result of the initial investigation and with the assistance of Officer John Pimentel and K-9 Pebbles from the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, detectives recovered over 20 pounds of marijuana packaged for distribution and over $500,000 in cash. The amount of marijuana recovered has an estimated street value of $80,000-$100,000.

DANG and LEWIS were issued a summons to appear in Woburn District Court to be arraigned at a later date.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
