UPDATE #3 (5:20 p.m.): Town of Norwood Provides Update on Coronavirus Situation

NORWOOD — The Town of Norwood seeks to provide updates to residents on a continuous basis.

Board of Selectmen Chairman Paul A. Bishop, General Manager Tony Mazzucco and Health Director Sigalle Reiss would like to provide important information about new resources available to residents today regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

The town website, http://www.norwoodma.gov/, has been updated to include information about the coronavirus from the Norwood Health Department including:

• A Norwood Health Department Coronavirus web page
• A Frequently Asked Questions page that will be updated regularly
• A link to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention coronavirus website

Both the town health department’s coronavirus web page and FAQ web page will be updated as new information becomes available.

The town’s coronavirus web page should serve as your local source for the latest official information about the situation as it pertains to Norwood and town officials welcome residents to check the page for news and updates.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health recommends that residents continue with good hygiene practices including:

• Practice good hand hygiene! Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds including under your fingernails. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol content) can be used when soap and water are not available.
• Keep your hands away from your face.
• Cover your nose and mouth when sneezing and coughing with a tissue and discard it immediately. Cough into the sleeve over your elbow instead of your hand. Wash your hands often when coughing and sneezing.
• Stay away from people who are sick and stay home when you are sick
