DERBY, Connecticut — CT Film Initiative founders Danielle Scott and Christina Sciongay are pleased to announce that the film production company will be hosting its second annual “Brewed for Film” event, to raise money to support Film for Therapy next week.

“Last year, Film for Therapy produced its first piece collaborating with the local non-profit TriCircle Inc. After the success of the project, we were overwhelmed with requests from other non-profits who wanted to collaborate with us on our next piece,” Scott said. “The money raised at this fun event will go toward funding Film for Therapy projects throughout the year.”

WHEN:

Saturday, Jan. 25 from 4-7 p.m.

WHERE:

BAD SONS Beer Co., 251 Roosevelt Drive, Derby, CT

WHO:

The CT Film Initiative (CTFI) production company was founded by Connecticut residents Danielle Scott and Christina Sciongay, to raise awareness for social causes and to provide opportunities for East Coast filmmakers. In 2019, the company received the CT Entrepreneur Awards Community Favorite Award for Economic Development.

The mission of CTFI’s non-profit Film For Therapy movement is to create meaningful films with themes that will raise awareness about social causes, while simultaneously promoting a call to action. Film For Therapy seeks to provide an artistic outlet for those overcoming afflictions with filmmaking as the medium. CTFI has partnered with organizations across the state to collaborate with producing filmmaking projects in a variety of genres that advocate for social change.

WHAT:

The event will be film-themed and will feature an open bar for three hours, which includes BAD SONS’ signature beer, wine and cider options. There will also be a pasta dinner, courtesy of Pasta Vita.

The night will feature games, movie trivia and exclusive CTFI merchandise will be available for purchase.

Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a balloon pop giveaway, while supplies last, featuring gift cards and artwork donated from local businesses and artists.

Tickets can be purchased for $35 at the door or or reserved in advance by emailing CTFilminitiative@gmail.com.

Proceeds for the event will go toward funding Film for Therapy projects in 2020.
