Westport High School Coach Placed on Administrative Leave

WESTPORT — Superintendent Gary Reese reports that a Westport High School coach has been placed on paid administrative leave.

On the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 13, Superintendent Reese was informed of an alleged incident where a coach made racially insensitive remarks toward a player.

The school district immediately began an investigation, and the coach has been placed on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

“Because this is an ongoing investigation involving a personnel matter, we are currently unable to release further information,” Superintendent Reese said. “Our district takes all allegations of this nature seriously. We will conduct a full and thorough review.”

The school district is following its established policies and procedures in regard to this matter.
