Concord Police Investigating Threat Made at High School

No Immediate Danger Found

CONCORD — Chief Joseph O’Connor reports that the Concord Police Department responded to and investigated a potential threat at Concord Carlisle High School this week.

On Tuesday, Dec. 18, Concord Police received information that a student at CCHS had made threats to harm other students at the school. Concord Police detectives immediately began a thorough investigation, through which they determined that the student did not take any steps toward carrying out the threats.

Concord Police also concluded that there was no imminent or immediate danger to the school community, though the incident does remain under active investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation, Concord Police will consult with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office on potential charges related to this incident.

School officials have taken appropriate action in response to the incident in accordance with school policies.

“The safety of our school community is one of our department’s highest priorities,” Chief O’Connor said. “This is an example of the importance of reporting threats, which allowed detectives and school officials to move quickly to ensure safety.”
