Whitman Police Arrest and Charge Woman with Second OUI Offense

WHITMAN — Chief Scott D. Benton reports that the Whitman Police Department arrested and charged a woman with her second OUI offense early Wednesday morning.

KRISTINA COMMESSO, AGE 26, OF WHITMAN, was charged with:

  • OUI Liquor (Second Offense)
  • Malicious Destruction of Property
  • Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle

At approximately midnight Wednesday, Whitman Police responded to a home on Geneva Avenue after a homeowner called and reported that a driver had gotten stuck in the mud in his backyard. Geneva Avenue is a private roadway off Commercial Street.

Upon arrival, officers located a Honda sedan with a woman, later identified as COMMESSO, in the driver’s seat.

COMMESSO had allegedly driven down the driveway of the home and onto the lawn. She then continued on the lawn around the house before getting stuck.

Through an on scene investigation, police determined that COMMESSO had been allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. She was placed under arrest without further incident and her car was towed from the scene.

COMMESSO is expected to be arraigned today at Brockton District Court.

The homeowner’s lawn had about $1,000 worth of damage done due to the tire tracks left from the vehicle.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
