Seven King Philip High Student-Athletes Sign Letters of Intent to Play NCAA Sports

WRENTHAM — Principal Lisa Mobley and Athletic Director Gary Brown are pleased to announce that seven King Philip Regional High School seniors signed letters of intent to play NCAA sports at their respective colleges and universities next year.

“We are all so proud of these gifted student-athletes who have committed themselves and worked incredibly hard to get to this point,” Athletic Director Brown said. “We wish them all the best as they continue on playing their sports in college. I will be following their collegiate careers closely.”

Wednesday is National Letter of Intent (NLI) signing day for all Division I and Division II athletes not playing football or basketball.

Dressed in sweatshirts and t-shirts from the colleges they will be attending next fall, the students filled out the NLI paperwork with family members, coaches, fellow students and school staff looking on. After signing the letters, they will be sent to each students’ respective college or university to confirm their commitment.

The KPHS student-athletes that participated today were:

• Meghan Gorman – Softball – Central Connecticut State University
• Emma Izydorczek – Field Hockey – Saint Anslem College
• Caroline Klim – Lacrosse – University of Massachusetts Lowell
• Sydney Lopez – Gymnastics – Lindenwood University
• Alli Meehan – Field Hockey – Northeastern University
• Tyler Stringfellow – Swimming – Bryant University
• Victoria Tormey – Lacrosse – Boston University

“Not only are these kids fantastic athletes, but they are also great students and represent the best of what KPHS has to offer,” Principal Mobley said. “Their families and the whole school community should be proud.”
