Arlington Police Investigating Motor Vehicle Crash Involving Pedestrian 

ARLINGTON — Chief Frederick Ryan reports that the Arlington Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle crash that left a woman seriously injured last night.

On Wednesday, Oct. 3, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Arlington Police received a report of a motor vehicle crash on Massachusetts Avenue at Medford Street.

Upon arrival, police learned that a 63-year-old man from Somerville was driving on Massachusetts Avenue when he struck a 43-year-old Arlington woman who was crossing Massachusetts Avenue in the area of Medford Street.

The woman was taken via ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. He did not suffer any injuries.

Immediately following the crash, traffic on the eastbound side of Massachusetts Avenue was diverted and one lane on the westbound side was closed.

The crash remains under investigation by the Arlington Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
