Rockport Police to Participate In Pink Patch Project

ROCKPORT — Chief John Horvath is pleased to announce that the Rockport Police Department is participating in the Pink Patch Project this month.

The Pink Patch Project is a collaborative effort between public safety agencies nationwide to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support cancer research organizations.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and beginning this week, the Rockport Police Association is selling a limited number of pink patches. Patches will cost $10 each, with all proceeds benefiting the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Additionally, all members of the Rockport Police Department will be wearing the pink patch throughout October.

“We’re honored to be participating in this worthy cause for the first time this year,” Chief Horvath said. “We all know someone who has been affected by breast cancer, whether it’s a family member or friend, and we’re happy to do our part to help support the fight for a cure.”

Those wishing to purchase a patch should contact Officer Kenneth Pedone, Jr. at kpedone@pd.rockportma.gov or call 978-546-1212. Residents can also stop by the police department at 168 Main St.
