Rochester Fire Department to Host Fire Safety Festival

ROCHESTER — Chief Mark Klose is pleased to announce that the Rochester Fire Department will host its second annual Fire Safety Festival.

WHEN:

Saturday, Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE:

Rochester Fire Headquarters, 37 Wakefield St.

WHAT:

Families are invited to enjoy a fun-filled day with their firefighters. There will be fire safety demonstrations, vendors and food, and plenty of souvenirs and giveaways for kids of all ages.

The event is part of the national Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 7-13.

In a fire, every second counts. It is important for members of your community to know what to do if there is a fire. Fire safety education isn’t just for school children.

This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere,” works to educate people about three ways they can reduce the likelihood of having a fire—and how to escape safely if they have one.

Click here to download a flyer for the event or a flyer for this year’s fire prevention week!

This is a free event, and all are welcome!
