Residents Invited to Attend Community Forum on Powder Mill Place in Maynard
MAYNARD — Town Administrator Gregory Johnson would like to invite residents to attend a community meeting next month regarding Powder Mill Place, where they’ll have the opportunity to meet the developer, learn more about the project and ask questions.
WHEN:
Monday, Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
WHERE:
Maynard High School auditorium, 1 Tiger Drive
WHAT:
The Town of Maynard is currently considering a proposal from Equity Alliance to construct four buildings, comprised of 254 rental units over two jurisdictions, on 12.68 acres on Powder Mill Road.
Proposed for the Acton-Maynard town line, the development would include one, two and three bedroom apartments, 25 percent of which would be deemed affordable under Chapter 40B. If approved, the project would create 74 new apartments in Maynard and help the town’s movement toward reaching its 10 percent goal of affordable housing.
Information on the project is available on the town’s website.
During the public meeting, representatives from Equity Alliance will outline the scope of the project, and town officials will be available to expand on impacts to the community.
“We encourage community members to attend this meeting to hear directly from the developer about the scope of the project and have their questions answered,” Town Administrator Johnson said. “We hope that residents take this opportunity to learn about the project and have a collaborative discussion on all aspects of the endeavor.”
