East Bridgewater Paramedics Assist Gunshot Victim on Route 24

EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Timothy Harhen reports that East Bridgewater paramedics assisted a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound on the side of Route 24 in West Bridgewater Monday night.

At approximately 6:20 p.m., an East Bridgewater Fire Department ambulance was returning from Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton back to East Bridgewater.

While the ambulance was driving down the southbound side of Route 24, the paramedics were flagged down by people who were in two vehicles that were parked in the breakdown lane.

The ambulance pulled over and a male suffering from a gunshot wound walked up to the ambulance and sought assistance.

The paramedics immediately began administering care to the man, who had been been shot in the shoulder.

The victim was then transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center.

The paramedics did not witness the shooting.

Any further information should be referred to the Massachusetts State Police.
