Middleborough Police Charge Juvenile Who Broke Into Cars Last Week

MIDDLEBOROUGH — Chief Joseph Perkins reports that Middleborough Police have identified and charged a juvenile who allegedly broke into multiple cars last week.

Because the suspect is a juvenile, his identity will not be released.

The JUVENILE MALE, AGE 17, OF WAREHAM is charged with two counts of Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle in the Nighttime. He is also considered to be a person of interest in more than a dozen other vehicle break-ins.

He was issued a summons to appear in court on Thursday, May 24, and will be arraigned at Wareham Juvenile Court on a later date.

On Thursday, May 17, Middleborough Police received several reports of car break-ins throughout the downtown area that had occurred overnight. In total, 19 vehicles were broken into.

Following a thorough investigation over the past week, including reviewing surveillance footage from businesses and homes in the area, detectives identified the JUVENILE MALE, who is known to police, as a suspect.

Anyone who believes they may have been a victim of a vehicle break-in last week is asked to call the Middleborough Police Department at 508-947-1212.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
