Raynham Firefighter Promoted to Lieutenant

RAYNHAM — Chief James T. Januse is pleased to announce that Raynham Firefighter William Trautman was promoted to the rank of lieutenant this week.

Lt. Trautman was sworn in by Town Clerk Marsha Silvia during a ceremony at the Board of Selectmen meeting Tuesday night, and will begin his new position effective immediately as the shift commander for Group 3. His promotion comes after the retirement of Lt. James Mansfield on Jan. 1.

“Lt. Trautman has proven to be an asset to the Raynham Fire Department and our community as a whole,” Chief Januse said. “I know he will continue to do a great job in this new role.”

A Raynham resident, Lt. Trautman joined the department in 2001 as a part-time on-call firefighter. He was promoted to a full-time position in 2002 and has served as the Advanced Life Support (ALS) coordinator for the department since 2015.

He also recently helped the department set up its ambulance computer software with its new dispatch and fire records software, and has served on committees that helped the department to purchase a new engine and ambulance.
