East Bridgewater Fire Department Seeking Donations for Annual Toy Drive

EAST BRIDGEWATER — Lt. Philip Woolf and the East Bridgewater Fire Department are seeking donations to their annual Toys for Tots toy drive this holiday season.

WHEN:

Toys are collected throughout the year. However, the deadline to ensure they are given out for the holidays is Sunday, Dec. 24.

WHERE:

• Fire Department Headquarters, 268 Bedford St., open 24-hours-a-day.
• East Bridgewater Town Hall, 175 Central St., in the lobby.
• East Bridgewater Public Library, 32 Union St., main entrance.
• Old Colony YMCA, 635 Plymouth St., gym lobby near child care center.

WHAT:

“This is my sixth year putting this all together and each year it’s amazing to see the fantastic support from the people of East Bridgewater and beyond,” Lt. Woolf said. “While we have already received several donations, there is a still a need and we would like to help as many families as possible this year to make sure no one goes without. So please, come by and drop off toys!”

Toys for boys and girls of all ages are being collected and will go directly to families in need in East Bridgewater. The items must be unwrapped when delivered.

Any monetary donations or checks can be dropped off at the Fire Department. The money will go directly toward buying more toys or gift cards. Checks can be made out to East Bridgewater Firefighters Local 2768.

If you cannot make a donation in time for the holidays, Lt. Woolf collects them throughout the year and uses them to give to families that suffer tragedies, such as house fires.

Each year about 100 families in town utilize the program during the holidays. For those who would like to receive toys, call the East Bridgewater Fire Department at 508-378-2271 and ask for Lt. Woolf.
