Toy Collection Boxes Set Up Around Stoneham for Fire Department’s Holiday Drive

STONEHAM – As part of the Stoneham Firefighters Association’s annual holiday drive, the Fire Department and Town Clerk’s Office have set up toy collection boxes around town to help children in need.

Each year the Stoneham Firefighters Association’s collects gifts to donate to Toys for Local Children — a Somerville based organization dedicated to making holiday wishes come true for families in the area.

To help ensure that every child has a happy holiday, collection boxes have been placed at the fire station, police station, Town Hall, the library, Stoneham Bank, 80 Montvale Ave., and Salem Five Bank, 359 Main St.

Those who are interested in donating can bring new, unwrapped toys to any of the collection box locations. Gifts are most needed for children ages 10-16. Gift cards are great contributions for anyone who would like to help, but is struggling with an idea.

Toys will be collected on Dec. 19 to be donated to Toys for Local Children, however, donations will be accepted at the fire station until Dec. 24.

“We’re happy and honored to be partnering with Toys for Local Children for another year,” Chief Grafton said. “We hope our community members will work with us to make this holiday special for every child.”
