Groveland Police Invite Community to Attend Touch-A-Truck Event
GROVELAND — Chief Jeffrey Gillen is pleased to announce that the Groveland Police Department is hosting its third annual touch-a-truck event next week.
WHERE:
The Pines Recreation Area, 222 Main St.
WHEN:
Monday, Sept. 25 from 5-7 p.m.
WHAT:
“Touch-A-Truck” provides residents, especially children, with an exciting opportunity to explore law enforcement vehicles. Children will be able to get up close, go inside, and take pictures with each vehicle and its operator.
Representatives and vehicles from the Groveland police and fire departments, along with a Coast Guard Boat, the municipal light department, highway department, the United States Postal Service, Bay State Limo, Haverhill Taxi, a tractor from Ed Watson and a large dump truck from R.A. Briscoe are scheduled to attend. The Massachusetts State Police will also attend to provide a K-9 demonstration. The event is hosted by the Groveland Police Department and the Langley-Adams Library.
“We’ve had such great success over the last two years with this event and we’re excited to once again partner with Langley Adams Library to have some fun with our community members,” Chief Gillen said. “We hope that everyone will come out to spend time with police officers, firefighters and town officials.”
The event is free and open to the public.
