Stoughton Sixth Grade Student Honored for Lifesaving Actions

STOUGHTON — O’Donnell Middle School Principal Matthew Colantonio is pleased to announce that sixth grade student Alise Fabregas was recognized this week for her help saving her newborn sister’s life.

Fabregas was honored at the annual Stoughton Chamber of Commerce’s “Caught You Doing Something Good” awards night on June 14 at 6 p.m. at the Stoughton YMCA.

Every year the chamber recognizes members of the Stoughton community who go above and beyond with their good deeds or volunteerism.

Jeffrey Pickette from the Stoughton Media Access Channel nominated Fabregas after she helped save her newborn sister’s life in November. While her sister was choking, Fabregas gave her mother step-by-step instructions on how to perform infant CPR after she learned the lifesaving strategies from Health and Physical Education teacher Chad Kelley during class.

“Alise took what she learned in the classroom and applied those skills to a real-life situation that undoubtedly saved her sister’s life,” Principal Colantonio said. “She is extremely deserving of this recognition and we commend her quick thinking and calmness during an emergency situation.”
