Lawrence Police Investigating Motor Vehicle Crash at Dunkin’ Donuts that Injures Customer

LAWRENCE — Chief James Fitzpatrick reports that the Lawrence Police Department responded to Dunkin’ Donuts this morning after a car crashed into the building and injured a patron.

At approximately 10:20 a.m., Lawrence Police responded to Dunkin’ Donuts, 226 Winthrop Ave., for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injury.

Upon arrival, the responding officer saw that a 2002 Chevy 1500 had crashed into the front of the store. The driver, a 23-year-old male from Derry, N.H. and his passenger, a 32-year-old man from North Andover, were standing outside the vehicle. A second passenger, a  24-year-old man from Londonderry, N.H. had walked away from the scene.

Inside the store, the officer located a 40-year-old man from Lawrence who stated he saw the Chevy coming at the store and jumped out of the way, injuring himself on the shattered glass in the process. The victim declined medical attention.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Lawrence Police Department.
