Andover Police Arrest Two for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon

ANDOVER — Chief Patrick Keefe reports that the Andover Police Department arrested two men for their alleged involvement in an assault and are seeking further suspects.

A JUVENILE MALE, AGE 17, OF ANDOVER was arrested and charged with:

• Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
• Armed Robbery
• Larceny Over $250
• Possession of Class C Substance with Intent to Distribute

JONATHAN HAYWOOD, AGE 19, OF ANDOVER was arrested and charged with:

• Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
• Armed Robbery
• Larceny Over $250

On Thursday, Feb. 16, just before midnight, Andover Police responded to 311 Lowell St. for a report of an assault with a dangerous weapon.

During the investigation, police discovered that a juvenile victim was robbed and beaten by several men. The suspects and victim are believed to be known to one another.

During the assault, the victim was struck with a weapon and shot several times in the torso with a BB gun. The victim was also robbed of an unknown amount of cash and a cell phone. He was transferred to Lawrence General Hospita lwith serious injuries.

This is an open and active investigation, and Andover Police are searching for two other suspects. Anyone who has any information regarding this incident is asked to contact Andover Police Detectives at 978-475-0411.
