Randolph Police Investigating Pedestrian Accident on Lafayette Street

Road Closed Until Further Notice, Motorists Urged to Avoid the Area

RANDOLPH — Chief William Pace reports that the Randolph Police Department is investigating a pedestrian accident on Lafayette Street. All motorists should avoid the area.

Just after 5 p.m., Randolph Police responded to the area of 23 Lafayette St. for reports of a pedestrian accident. Upon arrival, officers found a 69-year-old man struck by a vehicle. The man was transported to Boston Medical Center with injuries that are considered to be serious.

The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

The incident is under investigation by the Randolph Police Accident Investigation Unit.

Lafayette Street will be closed between Grove Street and West Street due to the investigation until further notice. Drivers should avoid the area.
