READING — Chief Mark D. Segalla reports that the Reading Police Department is actively investigating an armed robbery that occurred last night and seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect.

On Tuesday, Dec. 27, just after 6 p.m., Reading Police responded to P&S Convenience, 287 Lowell St., for a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect entered the establishment, brandished a black hunting knife and then fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

Reading Police and the Massachusetts State Police K-9 Units conducted a thorough search of the area, but were unable to locate the suspect, who may have fled the area by vehicle.

The suspect is described as a white male with a medium build, who is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and light colored footwear.

The incident is under investigation by Reading Police. Anyone with any information is asked to immediately contact the department at 781-944-1212.
