Man Falls Out of Tree in West Newbury, Suffers Serious Injuries

Man Falls Out of Tree in West Newbury, Suffers Serious Injuries

WEST NEWBURY — Chief Michael Dwyer reports that the West Newbury Fire Department responded to Crane Pond Wildlife Management Area this afternoon after a man fell out of a tree and was seriously injured.

At 3:28 p.m., the Fire Department received a 911 call that a hunter had fallen approximately 20 feet out of a tree, located around 150 yards off Ash Street. The area is on designated hunting grounds.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the 55-year-old West Newbury man conscious and alert. He was transported via medical helicopter to Tufts Medical Center with serious injuries.

The West Newbury Police Department and Atlantic Ambulance also responded to the scene to provide assistance. During the incident, the Groveland Fire Department covered the West Newbury fire station.
