Chelmsford Police to Host Annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive

fillthecruiser_v2-01 CHELMSFORD — Chief James Spinney is pleased to announce that the Chelmsford Police Department will host their annual Toys for Tots event in December.

WHEN

Saturday, Dec. 10

WHERE

Walmart, 66 Parkhurst Road, Chelmsford

WHAT

The Chelmsford Police Department invites the community to help them collect toys through the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to benefit children in need this holiday season. Residents are asked to bring an unwrapped gift, for a girl or boy, ages infant to 16, to the Walmart parking lot to assist officers in filling the department’s cruisers with toys.

Sgt. Steven Fredericks will lead the event for the fourth year in a row at the Chelmsford Walmart. This year, the department is raising its goal, seeking “1K for Kids.” Sgt. Fredericks will camp out at Walmart until 1,000 toys are donated. The department collected nearly 800 toys last year.

“I commend Sgt. Fredericks for taking the lead on Chelmsford’s Toys for Tots drive this year and every year,” Chief Spinney said. “We encourage everyone to pick up an extra toy while shopping to help make this holiday season special for every boy and girl.”
