Bedford Police Charge Woman for DWI after Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash
BEDFORD — Chief John Bryfonski reports that the Bedford Police Department charged a woman after she flipped her car last night while allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
DEBORAH BULLARD, AGE 56, OF LONDONDERRY is charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).
On Sept. 6, just after 7:30 p.m., Bedford police responded to the area of Hardy Road and South Hills Drive for a report of a motor vehicle rollover. Upon arrival, officers discovered two occupants, BULLARD and her 29-year-old son, trapped inside the flipped car. Bedford Rescue responded and subsequently removed both occupants from the vehicle. Both were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police learned that BULLARD was traveling north on Hardy Road, just prior to the intersection at South Hills Drive, when she failed to curve with the roadway. The vehicle crossed over South Hills Drive and went into the woods, striking a stone culvert that caused it to flip onto its roof. The car traveled between 250 and 300 feet off the roadway.
At the scene, officers found several alcohol containers in the vehicle and determined they were empty prior to the crash. Through an investigation, Bedford Police determined that BULLARD was under the influence and subsequently charged with a DWI.
BULLARD will be summonsed to Merrimack District Court on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 8 a.m.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
