Hull Police Charge Man in Connection with Recent Burglary 

HULL — Chief Robert C. Sawtelle reports that the Hull Police Department arrested a man today on an outstanding warrant after officers executed a search warrant at a home in town. Police will also summons the man on burglary-related charges.

JOSEPH M. GRAINGER, AGE 36, OF HULL was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Malicious Destruction of Property over $250 out of Quincy District Court. He will also face charges of Unarmed Burglary and Receiving Stolen Property over $250 (Subsequent Offense) in connection with an Aug. 23 burglary in Hull.

On Aug. 23, a Hull police officer responded to Touraine Avenue for a report of stolen property. A man at the home told police that he had been doing work on the residence and found several of his tools missing that morning. The victim noted that a window was open and the screen was cut on both sides and at the bottom.

Due to GRAINGER’s outstanding warrant, police obtained a search warrant for a home on Packard Avenue, where GRAINGER was staying.

Shortly after 8 a.m. today, police executed the search warrant. While there, police found several tools in GRAINGER’s possession that matched the description of the stolen items from the Touraine Avenue home, which is one block from Packard Avenue.

GRAINGER was placed under arrest for his outstanding warrant. Hull police will additionally summons him to Hingham District Court in connection with the theft.

“I commend the work of Hull officers, who were able to determine this man as the suspect in our burglary case and arrest him without incident,” Chief Sawtelle said. “We’re happy to be able to return the stolen items to their rightful owner.”
