GEORGETOWN – Chief Donald C. Cudmore is pleased to report that the Georgetown Police Department welcomed a new full-time officer last week.

Officer Matthew Carapellucci was hired as a full-time officer after serving the Georgetown Police Department as a Reserve Police Officer since 2012. He recently graduated from MPTC Recruit Officer Class #25, where his fellow officers elected him class president for the duration of the six-month training.

While working for the department as a reserve officer, Officer Carapellucci assisted in creating a Law Enforcement Explorer Program for high school students interested in pursuing a career in public safety. He also worked as a dispatcher for the Tewksbury Police Department while attending the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.

“We are incredibly proud to welcome Officer Carapellucci to the department,” Chief Cudmore said. “He has shown dedication to the field and a passion for policing that will benefit his growth as an officer, his department and the Georgetown community as a whole.”
