*Media Advisory* Burlington Police and Fire Departments to Host Community Safety Night
BURLINGTON — Police Chief Michael Kent and Fire Chief Steven Yetman are pleased to announce that the Burlington Police and Fire Departments will host a Community Safety Night to promote positive interactions between public safety personnel and residents.
WHEN:
Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 5 p.m.
WHERE:
Wegmans, 53 Third Ave.
WHO:
Members of the Burlington Police and Fire Departments
WHAT:
In an effort to promote mutual trust and respect, Community Safety Night provides residents with a unique opportunity to interact with members of the Burlington Police and Fire Departments in an informal and stress-free environment.
“We aim to promote cooperation and harmony between public safety officials and the communities they protect,” Chief Kent said. “This event encourages positive relations between our departments and members of the community, which is extremely important to us as public servants.”
Additional details include:
- Complimentary food provided by Wegmans
- Demonstrations by a police sketch artist
- Static K-9 displays
- Police, fire, and law enforcement vehicles and command units available for viewing
“Members of the community usually interact with law enforcement and public safety officials during stressful situations,” Chief Yetman said. “With this event, we can talk to residents in a safe, relaxing environment without any distractions. We encourage everyone to stop by.”
The event is sponsored by Wegmans, 3rd Ave Burlington, Armstrong Ambulance Service, Boston Med Flight, and K-9 First Responders.
