Andover Police Searching for Suspect in Armed Robbery of Gas Station

ANDOVER — Chief Patrick Keefe reports that the Andover Police Department is actively searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a gas station last night.

At approximately 9 p.m., police responded to a report that a man entered the Sunoco Gas Station at 209 North Main. The suspect brandished a knife and demanded money. Two store clerks were present during the incident, but no one was hurt.

The suspect then fled the store on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. He is described as a white male, between 5-feet 10-inches and six feet tall, with red hair. He was wearing a black North Face hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

A search of the area was conducted with the assistance of a Massachusetts State Police K-9 unit, but was unsuccessful.

“We are actively investigating this incident,” Chief Keefe said. “We are asking anyone who may have seen something related to this robbery, or who recognizes the suspect to please contact the Andover Police.”

Anyone with information on the suspect, or who has additional information regarding the robbery, is asked to call the Andover Police Department Detective Division at 978-475-0411.
