Andover Police & Essex District Attorney’s Office Investigate Death After Man’s Body Found In Pond

ANDOVER —  Chief Patrick Keefe reports that the Andover Police Department and the Essex District Attorney’s Office are investigating the death of an 81-year-old Andover man, whose body was found in a town pond this morning.

The Andover Police and Andover Fire Department received a call of a body in a pond at 233 Holt Road at approximately 7:50 a.m.

Andover detectives, along with investigators assigned to the Essex District Attorney’s Office and State Police Crime Laboratory, responded to the scene.

Investigators do not suspect foul play at this time. A preliminary investigation into the matter indicates that the man may have had an underlying health condition. His body has been transported to the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

“On behalf of the entire community, our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family during this difficult time,” Chief Keefe said.

The incident remains under investigation by the Andover Police Department and the Essex District Attorney’s Office.
