Rockland Water Main Break Repaired, Conservation Advisory Lifted
Residents May Resume Normal Water Usage
ROCKLAND — Town Administrator Douglas Lapp advises residents that the water main break at the Abington & Rockland Joint Water Works has been repaired and residents and business owners may resume their normal water usage, effectively immediately.
Abington & Rockland Joint Water Works has repaired a broken pipe connection in the underground storage tank at the treatment plant which caused the water supply issue to the town.
There was never any concern over the water’s quality, and the Town was in close contact with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection throughout the process.
“At this time the water main is repaired and we do not expect any additional issues,” Town Administrator Lapp said. “I would like to thank Water Superintendent Joe Lapointe and the Abington & Rockland Joint Water Works crews for their prompt work to fix the break. I would also like to express our appreciation to residents and business owners for their patience during this process.”
Town Administrator Lapp would also like to thank the Town of Weymouth for providing a water supply connection to Rockland residents and businesses during the advisory.
Those who are seeking more information are asked to call the Abington & Rockland Joint Water Works at 781-878-0901.
